I may not be an avid Destiny 2 player, but the recent collaboration between Bungie and BioWare has certainly caught my attention. The prospect of Mass Effect-themed cosmetics making their way into the game has tempted me more than any time in the decade since Destiny 2's release. Can donning Liara T’Soni’s iconic lab coat in Bungie’s MMO shooter fill the void left by the anticipation for Mass Effect 5? Perhaps not entirely, but it's a promising beginning.
Bungie revealed on January 30 that Destiny 2 will introduce cosmetics inspired by three beloved Mass Effect characters next month. Starting February 13, players can acquire Commander Shepard’s renowned N7 armor, Liara’s distinctive Lair of the Shadow Broker coat, and Garrus’ Mass Effect 3 armor. While the pricing for these outfits remains undisclosed (previous crossover skins averaged around $20), the ship and Sparrow skins inspired by various frigates in the Mass Effect universe, along with the Ghost shell based on the AI EDI, will be offered "at no cost." Michael Gamble from BioWare emphasized the importance, both for the team and Bungie, of providing some items free of charge. This entire package will be accessible through the "Alliance Requisition Bundle."
