Vivo Y200e 5G: Expected Soon as an Even More Affordable Android Smartphone in India

Vivo's Y200, already known as one of the most budget-friendly 5G smartphones featuring Vivo's distinctive Aura Light rear-facing ring-flash, might soon have a more economical variant hitting the Indian market – the Y200e. This potential release was tipped by recent reports, indicating that Vivo aims to offer an even more affordable alternative to its Y200 model.

As of now, the Y200 is available at INR 21,999 (~$265) on Amazon.in, boasting 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. However, for those seeking an even more budget-friendly option, the Y200e 5G could be on the horizon.

The Y200e has purportedly secured approval from the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) under the name Vivo V2336, a confirmation affirmed by the Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG), linking it to the Y200 series.

The intriguing aspect will be to observe the trade-offs Vivo might make with the Y200e to achieve its lower price point. Potential sacrifices could include a slimmer, flat-edged chassis accommodating a 4,800mAh battery, a 64MP primary camera paired with the distinctive Aura Light (and the light itself), and a 6.67-inch 120Hz FHD+ AMOLED display with minimal bezels.

However, one significant compromise appears to be the Y200e's SoC, which is only approved for Bluetooth 5.0, unlike the Y200's Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 platform capable of supporting Bluetooth 5.1. This adjustment might impact the overall performance and connectivity features of the Y200e.

As the Y200e inches closer to its potential release, it will be interesting to witness the choices Vivo makes to cater to the demands of cost-conscious consumers without compromising the essential features that make the Y200 series distinctive.
